Rabbit Cam Online with Carbon Poker Rabbit Hunt Feature

Run it Twice at Carbon PokerBack in 2003, televised poker was revolutionized when ESPN employed the use of the pocket cam for the very first time. This camera video taped players looking at their hole cards, so that later television viewers could see them. This was so successful that in 2004, the WSOP expanded its main event coverage to a full 22 hours, and also added the rabbit cam. It took a while for the rabbit cam to catch on, but in recent years we’ve seen dozens of online poker sites add the option for players to rabbit hunt.

The first online poker room to offer a rabbit hunting feature was Carbon Poker, though at that time it was known as poker.com. Rabbit hunting allows players to see what the remaining of a board would have been, had the hand been played to showdown. At Carbon Poker, it is a winner of an uncontested pot that has the option to activate the rabbit hunting feature. When doing so, their cards are turned up (displayed to other players) and the remainder of the board is dealt out for all players to see.

This feature has long been criticized by hard nosed old school poker players who will argue that such a tactics/feature slows down the game. An argument against, however, is that rabbit hunting also makes poker more fun to some, especially those who are not winning. If a losing player is sitting at a table, they’re often only going to continue to sit if the game is fun for them. For this reason, things which make the game more fun, such as Rabbit Hunting should be encouraged, because chasing losing players away to play a couple more hands per hour against tougher opponents might not be a fair exchange.
